In Depth Commercial Building Inspector

The commercial building inspectors here at Cliff Kapson understand that each material requires a different inspection method with different protocols to adhere to. We conduct two different levels of inspection depending on the material. A first level inspection is specifically a visual observation of the exterior and we are looking for mold, mildew, and staining on the service. We also look for cracks in material like Stucco.

Our Level II inspections contain all protocols of our Level I inspections, but they take the inspection process several steps further by including compliances to the manufacturer, the presence of a weep screen, correct kickout flashing, and more. Over the years, we have acquired a variety of certifications. Some of them include:

  • Certified third-party Inspector for Moisture analysis and Building Envelopes (#IL-42) through E.D.I. (Exterior Design Institute), a nationally recognized training and certification organization
  • Certified Third Party EIFS Inspector (Certificate #108802) through AWCI (Association of the Wall & Ceiling Industry) EIFS Education & Certificate Program
  • Listed as an approved third-party inspector after successfully completing the EIFS Inspector Training Program offered by Northwest Wall & Ceiling Bureau in Seattle, WA in September, ’98 and the NWCB Inspection Maintenance and Repair Seminar in September 2000
