Some would argue that the EIFS is inherently flawed as it makes no allowance for even incidental moisture to escape from behind the EIFS cladding because the design professional and/or general contractor is relying primarily on sealants to keep moisture from intruding and in fact all sealants will eventually fail.

EIFS Inspections and Evaluations

There are two types of Exterior Insulation and Finish Systems which include Barrier and Water-Managed. EIFS applications were before the year 2000 and water-managed Exterior Insulation and Finish Systems was introduced around 1996.

In most cases water intrusion problems are not apparent from a visual inspection of the exterior. However, we have the methods and tools necessary to detect any problems or potential problems.
