The Details

Relocation Inspections are based on guidelines defined by the Worldwide Employee Relocation Council and the inspector’s professional opinion. Relocation Inspections are not the same as retail home inspections as they don’t typically include the same information. Some of the guidelines given will come directly from the employer and sometimes the employer may ask that not all items be noted in the report.

As the employee needing Relocation Inspection Services you’ll need to prepare. In order to complete Relocation Inspections, there are certain components or areas of the home that must be accessible to the inspector. Before the inspector arrives on-premises, be sure there is access to the heating and AC unit, electrical panels, and the attic and crawl space. If there are cars parked in the garage, you’ll want to move those to another location for the inspection. When you prepare in advance, you’ll avoid delays in the inspection.

On-Site Inspection

During the on-site Relocation Inspections, the inspector will not discuss specifics with you. This is not to keep you in the dark but since the employer is acting as the potential buyer, it’s at the discretion of the employer to allow the report to be discussed.
